Third Street Software Forums: Sente 5 Preview

The official beta release of Sente 5 is still some weeks off, but we are going to make a preview release available to a small number of users in the next few days. If you are interested in trying out this preview release, please contact us at our feedback address.

We are particularly interested in getting feedback from users who:

-- have large Sente libraries (20,000 references or more), or who
-- do significant manual entry of references

But we are also interested in any regular Sente users who would like to help make Sente 5 a success.

Sente 5 can import data from Sente 4 and will leave the Sente 4 data as-is.

Sente 5 is definitely NOT ready for regular use, so do not expect to do real work in Sente 5. Instead, we would recommend importing your Sente 4 data, trying out the new features in Sente 5, giving us feedback, and then going back to Sente 4 for real work. When the beta comes out, it will be a viable replacement for Sente 4, but this preview release is not.

We are making this preview release available because there is A LOT of new code in Sente 5 and we want to get some early feedback about what works and does not work, as well as feedback on the new design of various components.

We expect to make this preview release available to a limited number of users, so please do not be offended if you do not make the cut-off!
