Over two months have passed since my last update on the development of Sente for iPad. I think it is time for another update.
We have had two Preview releases and have had very positive and useful feedback from the testers. Sente for iPad, however, is not yet feature-complete, so we are not yet in beta test mode.
In my last update, I said that we were shooting for an early summer release. Well, this is not going to happen. Early summer is here and we still have some important work remaining. I know that this will be disappointing to many, but we continue to push hard to complete v1.0 as soon as we can.
So, Sente for iPad will not be out until later this summer. It is hard for me to be any more precise than that because this is new territory for us and it is difficult to schedule the unknown.
On the other hand, we are excited about how Sente for iPad is turning out and I think you will like it when it is released. Having access to your entire Sente library on your iPad is great, and having the data on one or more iPads synced almost immediately with any number of desktop copies, no matter where they are, is amazing.
So, for now, all I can suggest is that you enjoy your summer vacations. We will be taking ours a bit late this year.

Michael,
Glad to hear the team is making progress on the iPad app. Sente is such a valuable tool for the academic community, I am certain the iPad version will be just as valuable. If you need testers, please keep me in mind.
Regards,
Neil
Glad to hear that we could finally be getting Sente on the iPad in 2 months or so. Sente 6 exceeded all my expectations except for a couple of minor issues like (inside PDF searching or the Safari 5 bug - which Sente team has nothing to do with it).
Smart lists, quick tags, document scanning is just a work of genius.
Although I emailed you before with no luck, I hope that if you need extra testers to keep me in mind. Thanks.
Thanks for the update. I echo the positive comments from Neil and Wizardgraphics. Having my Sente library available "on the go" — with highlighting and other annotation tools — will be worth waiting for, to ensure that it's done right.

Good luck! I'm looking forward to the release.
I can't wait to see what Sente for iPad looks like. I'm trying not to get too invested in any particular iPad set-up until the software drops. Any suggestions on how best to prepare? If you need any more beta-testers, please sign me up!
Thanks for the words of encouragement. We are very pleased with how Sente for iPad is turning out. My only tip for preparing would be to begin using synchronized libraries, even if you currently only use Sente on one computer, and to make sure that Sente is managing the filing of attachments. (This can be either inside or outside the library bundle, but if Sente is not managing attachments, they cannot be synchronized.) Turning sync on even for a single computer has the added benefit of always having an up-to-the minute backup. (As long as you keep a copy of the synced library somewhere, even if it is months old, if you open it in Sente, it will be automatically brought up-to-date at any time. Thus, even if you lose your computer and you do not have a recent backup, you will not lose any Sente data as long as you can get your hands on an old copy of the synchronized library.)

It has been a month since the last update -- any chance we could get another? For many of us the summer is all but over and the time has come to prepare for the Fall term and that includes setting up workflows. It would be great if we could get a sense for how Sente for the iPad is coming along.
My current workflow uses dropbox, hazel and iannotate pdf and works fairly wellm but sente on the ipad will be a big improvement!
What is Hazel?! Is tat an App?
